hello friend...!!
according to the given question,
1) total resistance :
• 6 ohm and 3 ohm are parallel so ,
1 / R = 1 / R1 + 1 / R2 .
1 / R = 1 / 6 + 1 / 3 = 3 / 6
implies R = 6 / 3 = 2 --------( 1 )
now this 2 ohm is series with 4 ohm there fore the effective resistance is
R = 2 + 4 = 6 ohm.
2) total current in the circuit :
we know that V = IR
implies, I = V / R
therefore I = 12 / 6 = 2 A.
there fore the total current in the circuit is 2A.
3) potential difference across each resistor :
a) across 4ohm
v = I R
implies, V = 2 X 4 = 8 v.
b) across 6ohm,
V = 2 X 6 = 12v.
c) across 3ohm
V= 2 X 3 = 6v.
4)current through each resistor :
I = V / R
a) I across 4ohm is
I = 8 / 4 = 2A
b) I across 6ohm
I = 12 / 6 = 2A
c) I across 3ohm
I = 6 / 3 = 2A.

hope it helps...!!
