3) Weight of a solid object = 250 N

We know that, weight of a solid object is equal to force applied by it.

So, Force applied by a solid object = 250 N

Area of contact = 10 m²

Pressure = Force /Area

Pressure = 250/10

Pressure = 25

So, Pressure exerted by a solid object on wooden plank = 25 Pascal or 25 N /m²

4) Length of the brick = 32 cm = 32/100 = 0.32 m

Breadth of the brick= 10 cm = 10/100 = 1/10 = 0.1 m

Area of contact = Length × Breadth = 0.32 × 0.1 = 0.032 m²

Weight of the brick = 16 N

We know that, weight of a solid object is equal to force applied by it.

So, Force applied by brick on ground = 16 N

Pressure = Force/Area

Pressure = 16/0.032

= 16000/32

= 500

Pressure = 500 Pascal

So, Pressure exerted by a brick on ground = 500 Pascal or 500 N /m²

5) Force applied on an object = 120 N

Area of contact = 3 m²

Pressure = Force/Area

Pressure = 120/3

= 40

Pressure = 40 Pascal or 40 N/m²
