2.5 kg mass kept at height of 15 m

To Find : Power of the pump.

Gravitational potential energy

Solution:

Power = Energy Time

Energy = 400000J = 400 kJ

Time = 10 sec

Power = 400/10   kJ/s

=> Power = 40  kJ/s

J/s = Joule/sec = W  ( watt)

=> Power = 40  kW

Gravitational potential energy = mgh

m = 2.5 kg

g = 10 m/s²

h = 15 m

PE = 2.5 x 10 x 15

= 375 J
