we take ratios :

on simplification

ad/db = 2/3

now ratios :

ae/ec = 8/12

on simplifying

ae/ec = 2/3

therefore the triangle abc and ade are similar cuz:

AD/DB = AE/EC

and angle a = angle a ( common)

so angle abc = 48 degree ( corresponding angles )
