a) we know that, slope gives the acceleration in v-t graph.. i.e., slope = tan(tita),.. so..
i) acceleration during 0 to 4 seconds is, velocity = 60 m/s,, time = 4sec,, then tan(tita) = 60/4, i.e., slope of the line is 15.. so., acceleration is 15m/s^2..
ii) acceleration during 4 to 10 seconds is, zero,, because the slope is zero..
iii) acceleration during 10 to 16 seconds is, velocity = 60m/s,, time = 6sec,, then tan(tita) = 60/6, i.e., slope of the line is -10.. so., acceleration is -10m/s^2..
b) we know that, area under v-t graph gives total distance, so total distance travelled by the body in 16sec is,, [1/2×4×60] + [6×60] + [1/2×6×60].. i.e., [120+360+180].. = 660m..
therefore, total distance travelled by the body in 16sec is 660m..
