husband age=(y+3)years

chid age=27+3=30 years (mentioned in question)

therfore,x+y+6=30 i.e,

x+y=30-6=24

wife age=(x+6) years

husband age (y+6) years

child age=20+6=26 years

x+6+26=y+6

x-y+26=0

x-y=-26 ......(2)

now solve (1) &(2)

x+y=24

x-y=26

______ (+y and -y gets cancelled)

2x=-2

x= -2/2 = -1

now place the value of x in (1) or(2) to get the value of y

i place in (1)

x+y=24

(-1)+y=24

y=24+1=25

therefore,the present age of husband=y+6=25+6=31 years
