As per the question, cost of 8 kg basmati rice is Rs 444

So cost of 1 kg basmati rice = Rs 444 / 8  

= Rs 55.50

( i ) cost of 15 kg basmati rice = 15 × 55.50

= Rs 832.50

( ii ) let cost of x kg basmati rice be Rs 1776

⇒ x × 55.50 = 1776

⇒ x × 555 / 10 = 1776

⇒ x = 1776 × 10 / 555

⇒ x = 17760 / 55

∴ x = 32 kg

Hence 32 kilograms of rice can be purchased with Rs 1776 .
