Step-by-step explanation:

Here,

the length of the rect. is 40m(including the semi circle)

The semi circle has a diameter of 7m which is also the breadth of the rect so, the radius is D/2= 7m/2 = 3.5m

So the actual length of the rect would be to subtract these radius from both end of the rect.

40m-(3.7+3.5)m= 40-7 = 33m also given in the question.

Now, if you cut both the semi circle from both ends of the rect. you'll get a full circle with the same radius = 3.5m

So the total area will be= area of rect.+ area of the circle

= (l×b) + ( πr²)

= (33m×7m) +(22/7 × 3.5m×3.5m)

=231m² + (11×3.5m²)

= 231m² + 38.5m²

=269.5m²

Now , perimeter will also be the same , but here we will not count the breadth since it has taken the shape of 2 semi circle (or 1 full circle)

i.e = perimeter of rect + circumference of the circle

= 2(l) + (2πr)

= 2(33m) + (2×22/7 ×3.5m)

= 66m + 22m

= 88m.

All these , assuming that the length and breadth are actually 40m and 7m.

A 40m length with 7cm breadth is weird.

its probably like a rope and not a garden.
