Even if kids are becoming tech savvy it also makes them tech dependent. Kids now rely on sources like Google and other search engines to help with work when they could be seeing from books.

When schools decided to go online because of the lockdown, the biggest concern for parents was the extended screen that their kids would be looking at. Six months later, parents now say that their children cannot be separated from technology. Whether it is doing their homework online or participating in extracurricular activities, children have aced the online game, but have also come to rely on technology a lot. This has left parents wondering whether the positives outweigh the negatives.

Schools try to strike the balance

However, Bengaluru-based teacher Taruna Gandhi says that all this screen time also means that kids are missing their time with friends. “It is definitely going to affect their physical interactions and their interpersonal skills, as most extra-curricular activities are also going online.” Taruna says that one way that schools are trying to cut down screen time, by giving them time offline, to study. "Offline classes are being assigned for every subject that they are having,” she says.

Hope it helps you
