Pneumonia is a disease in which the air sacs of lungs gets filled by a fluids which resist the exchange of gases i.e oxgen and carbondioxide due to whic the person suffering from pneumonia fells breathlessness and safocation.

Pneumonia is a disease caused by a bacterium Streptococcus pneumoniae. The disease is characterised by the accumulation of fluid in the alveoli of lungs. Since alveoli are the gas exchange centres of the lungs, we feel suffocated or breathless when the fluid is accumulated in the alveoli preventing the entry and exchange of gases in the body.
