In triangle ADB

AB²=AD²+BD²

13²=12²+BD²

BD²=169-144

BD=√25

BD=5

In triangle ADC

AC²=AD²+DC²

15²=12²+DC²

DC²=225-144

DC=√81

DC=9

BC=BD+DC

BC = 5+9

BD = 14

Thnx✌️✌️

The given triangle consists of two right angle triangle.

(1) Pythagoras theorem

AC² = AD² + DC²

15² = 12² + DC²

225 = 144 + DC²

225 - 144 = DC²

81 = DC² DC = √81 •°• DC = 9cm

(2) Pythagoras theorem

AB² = AD² + BD²

13² = 12² + BD²

169 = 144 + BD²

169 - 144 = BD²

25 = BD² BD = √5 •°• BD = 5cm

BC = BD + DC = 5 + 9 = 14cm

Length for BC is 14cm
