1. The aim of the experiment is to compare the rate of transpiration from both surfaces of a dorsi ventral leaf .

2. The colour of the cobalt chloride paper remains unchanged i.e. blue when dry and it turns pink when wet .

3. This experiment is showing transpiration. It is a process in which water is lost in the form of water vapours from the aerial parts of the plant .

4. If the cobalt chloride paper is not tightly attached to the leaf the piece of paper either does not turn pink or turns pink in a much longer time .
