pitcher plant does it because it needs other nutrients such as nitrogenous compounds it doesn't get it from photosynthesis so it catches and eats insects. brainliest. please

pitcher plant is green and it has chlorophyll and hence, is capable of carrying out photosynthesis. but it grows in regions where the soil lacks nitrogen. so, to fulfil its nitrogen demands, it consumes insects.
