First of all form an equation of the base.

A (4,-2) and B (7,2)

equation is given by : (y - y1)/(y2 - y1) = (x - x1)/(x2 - x1)

I took y1 = -2, y2 = 2 and x1 = 4 and x2 = 7

Substitute the value and you will get the equation as 3y - 4x +22 = 0

Now drop a perpendicular from C to AB which touches AB at M

C (-3,5)

CM = mod of [{(3*-3)+(-4*5)+22} / sqrt(9+16)]

Solve this and you will get CM as 7/5
