Given expression is

 \frac{ {a}^{ - 1}  +  {b}^{ - 1} }{ {ab}^{ - 1} }

 =  \frac{ \frac{1}{a}  +  \frac{1}{b} }{ \frac{1}{ab} }

Taking lcm in numerator,

 =  \frac{ \frac{a + b}{ab} }{ \frac{1}{ab} }

  = \frac{(a + b)ab}{ab}

 = a + b
