Answer:12 units

Step-by-step explanation:

It is clear that DE+CD=CE

Therefore,

x+2+3x+2=5x+2

=2+2-2=5x-x-3x

=2=x

=x=2

So CE=5*2+2=12

Given : point D is on line segment CE , DE=  x + 2 , CD = 3x + 2 , CE  = 5x + 2

To find : Numerical length CE

Solution:

point D is on line segment CE

=> length CE = length CD  + length DE

CD = 3x + 2

DE=  x + 2

CE  = 5x + 2

=> 5x + 2 = 3x + 2 + x + 2

=> 5x + 2 = 4x + 4

=> 5x = 4x + 2

=> x = 2

CE = 5x + 2 = 5(2) + 2 = 12

numerical length of CE  = 12 unit
