The Answer is given in  explanation part

Explanation:

  • In Cockroach respiratory system is consist of a network of trachea that open through 10 pair of spiracles that are present on the lateral side of the body.
  • They respire through these spiracles which open into tracheal tube. opening of spiracles is regulated by muscular sphincters.
  • so, if we immerse only the head of the cockroach into water, It does not suffocate as spiracle are present on the lateral side of the body(i.e. in thorax and abdomen) and through this spiracle they continue the taking of oxygen from air and thus survive.
