\textbf{Solution:}

Given,

(x - 1) is the factor of ( x^3 - k + 2 )

x - 1 = 0

x = 1

So, on putting the value of x in the given polynomial, we get;

p(x) = x^3 - k + 2

p(1) = 1^3 - k + 2

p(1) = 1 - k + 2

p(1) = -k + 3

Thus, the remainder is - k + 3

Since, (x - 1) is the factor of ( x^3 - k + 2 ).

Remainder is 0.

•°• - k + 3 = 0

=> - k = -3

=> k = 3

Therefore, the value is \textbf{k = 3}

\textbf{Thank you!!}
