1.let initial length =a , area= a^2; after doubling new length =2a area will be (2a)^2=4a^2...ratio of will be 4a^2/a^2=4:1
2. l=12 cm , perimeter=2(l+b)=40=2(12+b) so 20=12+b so b= 20-12=8cm
