Hi friend,

■Solution :-

➡Let the distance travelled by Abdul , from home to school = s km

Time taken to reach the school = t/sec

From return journey , Abdul cover distence = s km

Time = t2 sec

■ Avg. speed of journey, from school to home = Total distance / total time

20 km/h= s/t1
Or, t1= s/20km/h.......(1)

➡Avg. Speed for backward journey from school to home = Total distance/ Total time

30km/h = st2
Or, t2 = s/ 30km/h-----------(2)

➡Therefore, combined the equations we get =

(s+s)/[s/20+s/30]

= 2s/s [ 1/20 + 1/30]
= 20 × 20 × 30 / 50
= 24km/ h

So, the Avg. speed for Abdul trip is 24km/h...i hope it helps you
