My ambition to be a software engineer
During my university studies I used to implement statistical software’s programming to calculate or clean up data in order to write my reports and assignments. I appreciated this task very much. Now, I’m working as financial services officer. Using IT tools and creating basic programming to make mostly shortcuts are frequent tasks. I also developed tendency to help, explain or train people around me when it comes to using IT skills or tools. To be honest, I like it very much. As matter of fact, I figured out the importance of software engineering and how this medium is relevant to every sector of life. Then, the idea of becoming a software engineer started overwhelming my future career ambition. To be software engineer is choosing a creation-based career, which at the end will help facilitating people’s life. That is to say, a software engineer is kind of an artist who is contributing directly to the entire people’s life. Frankly, this is what I want to do.
Regarding my choice of Holberton School, first the people who are running this institute are coming from big prestigious IT companies, as matter of fact, they will provide student up-to-date knowledge in terms of corporations future needs. Second, the school is located within San Francisco bay area; well known for its cutting edge research in IT and telecom sector and for its headquartering most successful IT companies and start-ups. Finally, what strikes me is that Holberton School is offering a complete program in two years with comparison to the other schools offering boot camps and an apprenticeship in a very short-term period of time, which is for me very incomplete. Besides, the way of learning based exclusively on practicing is the best way to learn and be a perfect software engineer.
