Ans -- 6 types of soils are found in India. They are : Alluvial soil, black soil, red soil, laterite soil, mountain soil and desert soil.
● Give an account of the Alluvial soil.
Ans -- Alluvial soil is mainly found in the northern and coastal plain. They are the most fertile and formed by the deposition. It is rich in alluvium.
● How Black soil is formed ? Where are these soil found ?
Ans -- Black soil is formed by the weathering of lava rocks. These soil are found in the north western part of Deccan plateau.
● Write a short note on Red soil.
Ans -- These are found in the eastern and southern part of peninsular India. It get its colour from the iron present in it. They are not fertile.
● Mention the areas where laterite soil is found.
Ans -- These are found in parts of eastern and western ghats and northeastern India.
● Where does mountain and desert soil occurs ?
Ans -- Mountain soil occurs in Himalayan region and desert soil in Rajasthan area.
