The poem 'Owl's is written by Edward Thomas about the First World War.

It describes the experience felt by the poet in both fulfillment and deprivation way. It has beautifully described empathy and guilt simultaneously.

In the poem, his physical pain of fatigue, hungry, cold is less felt. While climbing the hill l, he hears owl's cry which is "melancholy and "no merry note" in the night that represented the empathy for poor soldier lying dead under the night sky.
