Hey Mate ☺️
The wide steel belt is observed over the wheels of the tanks of every army. The reason behind is the pressure management. As we know the pressure is force applied per unit area. The army tanks are much bulkier and have a tendency to be grounded if preventive measures were not taken. One such is the wide steel belt over wheels by which the surface area of the wheel portion is increased and as pressure is inversely proportional to surface area, pressure will decrease. This allows the army tank to move smoothly over the ground without being sunk in.

In short, A wide steel belt is provided over the wheels of army tank because, we know P = F/A. So we provide a larger surface area which causes the pressure of the tank on the ground to decrease, allowing it to move easily and not sink into the ground.
I Hope it helps you ☺️✌️✌️
