Answer:

 {x}^{2} -  4\sqrt{2}x + 6 = 0

 {x}^{2} - 4 \sqrt{2} x =  - 6

 \frac{1}{2}  \times coefficient \: of \: x

 \frac{1}{2} \times  - 4 \sqrt{2}

(  - 2 \sqrt{2} ) ^{2}

 {x}^{2} - 4 \sqrt{2} x + ( {- 2 \sqrt{2}} ^{2} ) =   - 6 - 2 \sqrt{2} ^{2}

(x - 8)^{2} =  - 6  +  8

(x - 8) ^{2}  = 2

x - 8 = +  -   \sqrt{2}

x - 8 =  \sqrt{2} \:  or \: x - 8 =  -  \sqrt{2}

x = 8 +  \sqrt{2}  \: or \: x = 8 -  \sqrt{2}

x = 8 +  \sqrt{2} \: or \: 8 -  \sqrt{2}

Hope it helps...
