Q17 a) Heating effect of current
when an electric current flows through the filament of electric toaster or any other appliance, the wires of the filament soon become red hot . It follows that a flow of current can produce heat. this is called heating effect of current.
b)uses of heating effect of current
electric heater, geyser, electric kettle all are based on heating of current.
c) An electric fuse is a safety device which is used to limit the current in an electric circuit.The purpose of fuse is to safeguard the circuit and appliances connected to it from getting damaged due to excessive heating.
