Given that the cashier gave Meena 50 and 100 notes only.
Let the number of 50 rupees Meena received = x.
Let the number of 100 rupees Meena received = y.
Given that Meena got 25 notes in all.
x + y = 25
x = 25 - y ------ (1)
Given that Meena went to withdraw 2000 rupees.
50x + 100y = 2000
50(25 - y) + 100y = 2000
1250 - 50y + 100y = 2000
1250 + 50y = 2000
50y = 2000 - 1250
50y = 750
y = 750/50
y = 15.
Substitute y = 15 in (1), we get
x = 25 - y
x = 25 - 15
x = 10.
Therefore the number of 50 rupees Meena received = 10.
the number of 100 rupees Meena received = 15.
