Given that :-
AQBC is a parallelogram.
ABCR is a parallelogram.
To prove :-
BC is 1/2 RQ.
Proof:-
As shown in the attachment :-
AQBC is parallelogram.
Thus,
BC = AQ (opposite side of a parallelogram is equal.)
Similarly,
ABCR is a parallelogram.
Thus,
BC = AR
So,
From above two points :-
BC +BC = AQ + AR
Or,
2BC = RQ
Or,
BC = 1/2 RQ
Hence, proved
