vii) 4x^2-1=0

4x^2=1

x^2=1/4

x=1/2

therefore,

=8(1/2)-2-3(1/2)+12(1/2*1/2*1/2)

=4-2-3/2+12(1/8)

=4-2-3/2+3/2

=4-2

=2
