                 = 1/root 5 + 2 * root 5 - 2/root 5-2

                 = root 5 - 2/5 - 4

                 = root 5 - 2.



x + 1/x = (x+1/x)^2 - 2 * x * 1/x

           = (x+1/x)^2 - 2

           = (root 5 + 2 + root 5 - 2)^2 - 2

          = (2 root 5)^2 - 2

          = 4 * 5 - 2

          = 18.
