potential resources and reserve
Answers
Answer:
Potential resources- These are the resources for which we have technology to extract but their extraction or fully extraction has not been started till now due to some reasons like lack of investment. Ex- Rajasthan has potential of around 1,42,310 Mw solar power but installed capacity is only 730 Mw.
Stock- These are the resources for which we don’t have technology to extract. Ex-Water consists of Hydrogen and Oxygen which are inflammable but we don’t have technology to extract energy from these elements.
Reserve resources- Although we have technology to extract these resources but we are not extracting them at present These resources have been stored to meet future requirements. Ex- We store water in dam to meet our energy requirement of future (whole year).
Potential resources are known to exist and may be used in the future. For example, petroleum may exist in many parts of India and Kuwait that have sedimentary rocks, but until the time it is actually drilled out and put into use, it remains a potential resource.
Reserves Resources are the sources which have been recognized and are completely maintained for present and future application. These are resources whose total amount is known.
