prabha and aarthi paid Rs.600

prabha paid 120 more than aarthi

therefore, 600-120

=480.

therefore, the amount already paid=Rs 480

Amount paid by prabha and aarthi for some good = Rs 600

Let amount paid by prabha = Rs x

Amount paid by aarthi = Rs (x - 120)

Turning the statement in terms of equation

→ x + x - 120 = 600

→ 2 x = 600 + 120    [Bringing constant on one side of equation]

→ 2 x = 720

Dividing both sides by 2, we get

→ x = 360

Amount paid by prabha = Rs 360

Amount paid by Aarthi = Rs 360 -Rs 120= Rs 240

Amount already paid , is by Aarthi which is Rs 240, then prabha paid Rs 240 + Rs 120 = Rs 360.
