Hi,
Your answer:
It is a region of difficult environment. Rainfall is important, anywhere over 800 millimeters, but the terrain is fragmented with high plateaus, large escarpments, ditches and deep basins. The basement is granito-gneissic for the most part and the rocks have been decomposed by the very rainy climate to give lateritic soils rather mediocre. As a result, the region has not attracted Hindu farmer populations and served as a refuge for ancient populations, sometimes referred to in India as adivasis (literally: "ancient inhabitants"), or still "tribal" populations whose social organization is not based on caste. These people practice a cropping system linked to the long fallow forest, which does not allow to support a large population. Also, some districts have only a few tens of inhabitants per square kilometer, which is a particularly low density for India.
Good bye :)

Resources and power. Madhya Pradesh is rich in minerals, though these resources have yet to be fully exploited. There are large reserves of coal and important deposits of iron ore, manganese ore, bauxite, limestone, dolomite, copper, fireclay, and kaolin (china clay).
