Present ages of anu and Raj are in the ratio 4:5
Eight years from now the ratio of their ages will be 5:6. Find their present ages

Imagine their age is 4x , 5x

after eight years 4x + 8/5x+8 = 5/6

24x+48=25x+40

or, x= 48-40=8

present age of anu is 8x4= 32

present age of raj is 5x8= 40

Let , the common ratio be x

Then , the present age of Anu is 4x and Raj is 5x

Therefore ,

4x + 8 / 5x + 8 = 5 / 6

5 ( 5x + 8 ) = 6 ( 4x + 8 )

25x + 40 = 24x + 48

25x - 24x = 48 - 40

x = 8

•°• Present age of Anu is ( 4x ) = 4 × 8 = 32

And Raj is ( 5x ) = 5 × 8 = 40
