present examination system is more of a burden as teachers ,while teaching, always teach in context of examination,ie. they always concentrate on how students should write in examination, not how the topic is useful in future.

Today's tests are burden not a test for abiltity. Stephen Hawkings wasn't a top scorer. Einstein was considered a du!ffer. Edison - dum!b.
We know 'em very well now. If you have talent, marks can't prevent you from becoming a legend. Today, Everyone talks only about the toppers. Not knowing the calibre of the people in between those toppers because they just outshined them in one single test. Who knows that maybe one of the persons among the low-graders hold a tremendous calibre and knowledge.
This is our tendency to only consider the highest scorer. I mean that's in our DNA. The fittest would survive. That's the principal. But if we just look at the history of legends, many of 'em weren't toppers. It isn't denying the principal. Its very logical. How can you even estimate a person's calibre and knowledge in a single test?! Although there are formatives and all, but the main focus is still on the final written examinations. These examinations require a lot of memorising and thus adds to burden. They don't really test our skills. The one who is successful in memorising wins the race. Hence, the given statement is correct.
