They are produced by the negative electrode, or cathode, in an evacuated tube, and travel towards the anode. They travel in straight lines and cast sharp shadows. They have energy and can do work. They are deflected by electric and magnetic fields and have a negative charge.

Hiii.....

◇ it moves always in astaright line path from cathode to anode.

● cathode rays have momentum it rotates the pin wheel kept in the path of cathode rays.

○ Nature of chatode rays is independent of nature of gas and nature of electron used.

■ it produce fluorencence( produce glow ).

◇ when electron is passed through a metal countiously it may produce high frequency ray ex :- x-rays , uv-rays , etc.

● it may produce incodensence.

□ Flow of electron is known as cathode rays.
