Did that in my college ;)
Let, x=1 y=1 ----- eqn 1.
hence, x=y
multiply with y on both sides,
xy = y^2
substract x^2 on both sides.
xy - x^2 = y^2 - x^2
xy - x^2 = (y-x) (y+x) [using formula of x^2-y^2]
deduce common elements
x(y-x) = (y-x) (y+x)
cancel (y-x) on both sides.
x = (y+x)
Substitute values from eqn 1
1 = (1+1)
1=2
Hence Proved.
