let a be any positive integer putting different values of a

like...

a=3 then a²=9=8+1 which is of the form 8m+1

if a=5 then a²=25=8*3+1 which is of the form 8m+1

similarly any values of a will prove this

hence any positive square of an odd number is of the form 8m+1
