Take a glass and put some baking soda in it . Add some vinegar in it. A reaction will take place and Co2 will be formed. As its heavier than air it settles down in the glass.

Tilt the glass a bit and keep a lighted candle near it. The co2 will pour down over the flame and it will extinguish. It proves that the co2 is formed.

Baking soda and vinegar react with each other because of an acid-base reaction. Baking soda is a bicarbonate (NaHCO3) and vinegar is an acetic acid (HCH3COO). One of the products this reaction creates is carbon dioxide.
