Answer:

we have to prove that 1/√2 is irrational,

1/√2 is rational just assume,

1/√2 can be written as,

a/b=1/√2

where a and b are rational number and b cannot be zero,

sO,


a/b=1/√2

b/a=√2

b/a is rational and √2 is irrational

and rational and irrational can't be equal to each other,

so our assumption and supposition were wrong that 1/√2 is rational.

hence it is proved that 1/√2 is irrational number.
