The current density is a scientific term which is related with the electromagnetism.

It is the per unit electricity in a cross section area of a metal conductor.

Which means,the greater current density means greater electricity flow through that particular conductor.

And the electricity flow is nothing but the flow of the electrons through that particular conductor.

That's why we can easily say that the current density is directly proportional to the drift speed of the electron or the electron flow.
