- Apply some vaseline on the pistons and then insert them into the syringes. This will make smooth movement of the pistons.

- Try to compress the content by pushing the piston in each syringe.

You will find that the piston can be pushed more easily in the first syringe having air (gas).

Thus, the extent of compression is more in gas while it is least in solid.
