Proving irrational number 3 root2

3

3 \sqrt{2}

assume it as a rational number

we knew that every rational is of the form

 \frac{p}{q}

so assume that 3

3 \sqrt{2}

is equal to p by q

now send 3 to right hand side I.e to p by q

it becomes p by 3q

here L.H.S is not equal to R.H .S

this is occurred due to our wrong assumption that 3 root 2 is rational .

so it is irrational
