Vascular cryptograms are those plants which cannot make seeds and they use other methods for reproduction.

They simply depend of asexual vegetative methods for the further growth of plants.

Pteridophytes include the ferns, mosses and horsetails which are incapable of producing seeds and hence, reproduce through spores.

They neither have seeds nor do they have flowers, to produce pollen grains.

This is the reason why Pteridophytes are considered to be vascular cryptograms.
