During 1965 Indo-pak war started and after this war, our prime minister Indira Gandhi agreed to grant the demand of separate Sikh state. On 1st November 1966, Punjab was divided into 3 states, Hindu majority areas were divided into the states of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana.
