Q.1. Alexa buys 27 stamps, each stamp is of 1 square unit of area. She exchanges them for 8 sugar cubes, whose total volume is numerically (not dimensionally) equal to the total area of Alexa’s stamps. Which of the following represents the length of a cube of sugar. 1.5 units .67 units 1 unit Not enough information is given

See,
1 stamp =1unit ^2
27 stamp =27unit ^2
Since it is sugar cube therefore its volume is a^3.
Let length of each sugar cube be x unit.
There fore volume of each cube =x^3.
Volume of 8 sugar cubes =8x^3
Now since volume of these cube =total area of alex stamps numerically not dimensionally (i.e, 27 only, no unit)

According to the problem,
8x^3 =27
Or,x^3=27/8
Or,x=cube root of (27/8)
Or, x=3/2
Or,x=1.5

Ans:length =1.5unit
