Answers
Answer:
1) Porters place a round piece of cloth on their head when they carry heavy lods as the round piece of cloth increases the area on which the load is placed. We know that when surface is more than pressure is less. As a result, the pressure on their heads get reduced.
2) Wide wooden sleepers are kept below railway lines because the area of wooden sleeper is large . we know that large area less pressure . Wooden or concrete sleepers are kept below the railway line so that there is less pressure of the train on the ground and railway line may not sink into the ground
3) Camel can run on sand easily because they have wide feet which help them to balance thier weight on loose sand and wider feet gives a larger surface area also.
4) The wood will exert a great pressure.
5) The thin rod will sink first because it has less surface area so it will execrt more pressure on sand than the thicker rod.
