information received through the receptors travel from one neuron to another when the electrical impulse reaches at the end of axon then the neuron starts to produce tiny amount of chemical substance which crosses through the synapse and it act same like electrical impulse it flows in one direction only.

chemical which convert the information into electrical impulse is neurotransmitters.
