Let length be l and breadth be b.
Area =l×b
Also, when length is decreased by 3
unit and breadth is increased by 4unit.
New length =(l-3) and new breadth =(b+4)
Area =(l-3)(b+4)=lb=>lb+4l-3b-12=lb
=>4l-3b=12.
Hope it helps
