Explanation:

Given

Two equivalent fractions are given : x+5/2 & x-1/4

\sf\huge \mathbb{\underline{\underline{{Solution}}}} </p><p>Solution</p><p>	</p><p> </p><p>

Since ,both fraction values are equivalent so ,they must be equal to each other.

Now, let x+5/2 be the fraction LHS

and x-1/4 be the fraction RHS

Solving and equating both fractional values

➙x+5/2= x-1/4

Cross multiply to both sides

➙4(x+5)= 2(x-1)

➙4x+20= 2x-2

making like terms

➙4x-2x= -2-20

➙2x= -22

➙x= -11

Now, we find x = -11

Check:-

➙x+5/2= x-1/4

➙-11+5/2= -11-1/4

➙-6/2= -12/4

➙-3=-3

Since,both fractional values are same hence,it's a equivalent fractions.

Know More:

Equivalent fractions: equivalent fractions are those fractional values which having different numerators and denominators but their ratios and proportion are same.

Explanation:

x+5/2=x-1/4

By cross multiplication

4(x+5)=2(x-1)

4x+20=2x-2

4x-2x= -2-20

2x= -22

x= -22/2

x= -11
